I work at a school with kids who have severe multiple disabilities not to far from you. We have a child here who is amazing with SMA. This child is now in first grade. I have written down your e-mail and can get in touch with the family here if you would like to meet. I will be in touch. If you would like to come and meet this child I could probably arrange that too.
My heart goes out to you and your beautiful family. As a father of an 13 year old boy with SMA, Carter, your story moved me to tears! It brought me back to the day when our son was diagnosed and of all of the joys and pains, the great moments, the good and the bad, the happiness and the sorrows that we have experienced. My heart goes out to you. I really do understand what you are going through emotionally, spiritually, and physically. These truly are very wonderful spirits of our Heavenly Father. What a great blessing my son has been in my life and what a great blessing she will be in yours. Having a child with SMA has taught me to have a greater love for the Savior and a great desire to be worthy to be with him and my family forever. The meaning and reality of the resurrection mean so much more to me that I ever could have imagined. God bless you for what you are and will go through! You all will be in my thoughts and prayers. If there is anything I can do in any way, or if there are any questions you may have regarding SMA and what we have learned (equipment, etc) please feel free to email me at markveldevere@comcast.net or feel free to call me or my wife at (801) 635-6588. We would love to talk with you and help in any way. May our Father watch over you, your husband, and especially your little girl. We would love to help you to meet other families with children with SMA. Please feel free to call or e-mail. You are not alone! God bless you! Your friend Mark and Brenda Veldevere
Just thinking of you and your sweet family.
